SUMMARY:Breaking and Mending
DESCRIPTION:Where Grief\, Gratitude and Beauty Coexist\nA Self-Generated Ceremony on the Land \n\nSliding scale available – please ask your guides!\nNon-refundable deposit $100\nBegins Thursday\, July 8 at 2pm\nEnds Sunday\, July 11 at 2pm\nLimited to 8\, due to Covid restrictions\nCost of $450 includes land use fees and all art supplies\n\nThere’s a crack in everything\, that’s how the light gets in.\n~ Leonard Cohen \nCome join us on the wild land for this unique retreat and ceremony where we will use and honor the art of Kintsugi and SoulCollage® as metaphors to explore the brokenness that lives in ourselves and our Mother Earth\, to acknowledge and honor our grief and find the beauty and gratitude that resides there. As we begin to emerge from the liminal space of The Great Pause\, we will say goodbye to what was and set our hopes and prayers on what will be. \nKintsugi (golden joinery) is an ancient Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. As a philosophy\, Kintsugi treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object\, rather than something to disguise. It encompasses a philosophy of living\, finding beauty within the imperfections of life and peacefully accepting the natural cycles of growth and decay. \nSoul Collage ® is a process of using visual imagery to consult our deepest knowing\, calling upon energies within and outside of ourselves for wisdom and strength. \nMany of us are living with broken hearts\, especially after the unprecedented tragedies that have occurred over the last year. We accumulate grief and carry it with us\, often unseen and unexpressed. But grief can be a storehouse of power\, a way to reconnect with how we love and honor what came before. Grief can help us find the beauty in our brokenness\, while opening us to loving more and being of service in the world \nFor more information contact deborah@earthwaysllc.com \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	To register for this program\, please print and fill out the registration form located here and pay the deposit amount listed above.\n \n	You may pay using the form below\, name and email required\, or you can mail a check to the address listed on the registration form. SUMMARY:Walk Through the Fire
DESCRIPTION:A Ceremonial Circle near the Start of Fire Season\nTHIS PROGRAM IS CURRENTLY FULL WITH A WAIT LIST \nPlease contact the enrolling guide by filling out the RSVP form below to be added to the wait list. \n\nSliding scale $100-$160\nNon-refundable deposit $50\nFee to be adjusted if program is shortened to daylong\nNo one turned away for lack of funds\nStarting 6 p.m. on Friday\, ending Saturday around 5 p.m.\n\nCheck out this song\, “Walk through the Fire”\, by Mary Gauthier: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52yPzBgnHRA&list=RD52yPzBgnHRA&start_radio=1 \nThis wonderful singer/songwriter uses fire as a metaphor for surviving a troubled relationship. We invite you to listen and turn this around: consider instead that the troubled relationship is a metaphor for walking through fire season. \nSonoma County has arrived at a “new normal”. Instead of the surprise of the occasional wildfire\, we now have a “fire season” every fall. Or even worse\, we had a fire season this past year that lasted from August to December. \nWith each fire season comes real fear. Fear of destruction. Fear of evacuation. Fear of loss of home. Fear of death. How to live with that much fear\, that much uncertainty? For some\, the answer is simple: move away. For those of us who choose to stay\, what kind of clarity of mind\, fortitude of spirit\, and practical preparation are needed as we prepare to enter yet another fire season? \nThis ceremonial circle will be held in Sugarloaf Ridge State Park\, where all of the park has been burned in recent years\, either by the Nuns fire in 2017 or the Glass Fire in 2020. Even worse\, half of it was burned by both fires. We’ll start the day in circle\, inviting people to hear each other’s personal “fire story” in prep for a day on the land. During the solo time\, we’ll invite everyone to go out alone in search of tree wisdom. We’ll encourage you to have two separate conversations: one with a living tree and one with a dead tree. What do trees have to teach us about living through fires? We’ll come back together in the afternoon to hear everyone’s story from this day of walking on a land that’s healing and growing. \nFor more information or questions\, please contact Scott Eberle at scott@earthwaysllc.com \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	To register for this program\, please print and fill out the registration form located here and pay the deposit amount listed above.\n \n	You may pay using the form below\, name and email required\, or you can mail a check to the address listed on the registration form.
