The closest medical facilities may not be able to effectively treat COVID-19 or other infectious diseases. Pre-existing medical conditions\, both known and unknown to the guides\, may increase the chances of injury or death. Despite efforts to screen all participants for signs or symptoms of infectious disease\, both before and during an EW-LLC program\, there is no way to ensure that all participants are free of infectious diseases before or while attending an EW-LLC program. EW-LLC will make good faith efforts to minimize the risk of transmission of COVID-19 or infectious diseases\, but preventive measures undertaken by EW-LLC and its employees or contractors may not be effective at preventing such transmission.\n		 \n	\n\nFurthermore\, EW-LLC employees have difficult jobs to perform. They seek safety\, but they are not infallible. They might be unaware of a participant's fitness or abilities. They might misjudge the weather or other environmental conditions. They may give incomplete warnings or instructions\, and the equipment being used might malfunction.\n \n\n	\n		I expressly agree and promise to accept and assume all of the risks existing in this activity. DESCRIPTION:Offered by School of Lost Borders… www.schooloflostborders.org \nOne of a woman’s greatest longings is to be seen and known in her most wild and authentic self – a self that is intimately intertwined with the creative forces and cycles of nature. Like the waxing and waning of the moon\, the feminine is reflected by the continual movement of light into dark\, and back into the light. Birth death-and rebirth. She knows this in her own body as she makes the descent and reemerges anew\, each time sourcing from an ancient wellspring of wisdom\, passed down by a lineage of women who have traveled this path before. \nNo matter the circumstances\, the gains and the losses\, the wellspring never dries up. Perhaps\, it gets forgotten\, or dismissed\, but eventually\, the waters call a woman back to its source through the age-old\, nature-based practice of a rite of passage. She is called to go out alone\, with an empty belly and bare essentials\, into the spacious desert\, for four days and four nights where she will find herself in perfect solitude. Here she can clear away the distractions of her busy life and tune her ears to the voices of wild nature around her and to her own inner nature; the truth of her being\, a daughter of Earth. \nThis ceremony involves several days of preparation\, 4 days and nights of fasting alone in a wilderness place\, and a few days of incorporation.

DESCRIPTION:Offered by the School of Lost Borders\, www.schooloflostborders.org \n“Let Go into the Mystery” draws upon the wilderness-based tradition of the School of Lost Borders and EarthWays and also the spiritual practice of sitting meditation to create a unique program for desert contemplatives. This is neither a typical SOLB program nor a typical meditation retreat\, but a blend of the two. This 9-day program\, in the vast and ancient landscape of Eureka Valley\, is a ceremony in the East Shield of the School’s Practice of Living and Dying. This is an invitation to explore and honor the individual stories of our spiritual unfolding through life\, and to let go into the Great Mystery that holds us beyond birth and death. \nThough we will be camping out for the entire week\, activities undertaken will be non-strenuous and our emphasis will always be “safety first.” We will provide a list of personal equipment that each participant should bring\, and we will also provide some group equipment for our base-camp.

DESCRIPTION:Offered by Peerspirit… www.peerspirit.com \nFor the eleventh year\, Peerspirit is delighted to offer this wilderness quest for both men and women. If you are seeking to listen to your deepest nature\, mark a transition in your life\, to reconnect with your inner wisdom or to clarify a life situation\, we invite you to join us in the beautiful forested land of the Eastern Cascade Mountains. Using Skalitude’s off-the-grid retreat center as a base camp\, your guides will prepare you for a 3 day solo in the wilderness by learning orientation\, physical safety\, wilderness ethics and the traditional quest practices of council\, four shields teaching\, wilderness solitude\, fasting\, and self generated ceremony. Upon return your stories will be shared\, mirrored and confirmed in a council of elders by your guides and there will be time devoted to beginning incorporation. \nParticipants will provide their own equipment (list provided) for the solo time. All food will be provided. No prior camping experience is required. Hiking and other movement at this 3000ft elevation will not be strenuous.
