SUMMARY:Let Go into the Mystery
DESCRIPTION:Offered by the School of Lost Borders\, www.schooloflostborders.org \n“Let Go into the Mystery” draws upon the wilderness-based tradition of the School of Lost Borders and EarthWays and also the spiritual practice of sitting meditation to create a unique program for desert contemplatives. This is neither a typical SOLB program nor a typical meditation retreat\, but a blend of the two. This 9-day program\, in the vast and ancient landscape of Eureka Valley\, is a ceremony in the East Shield of the School’s Practice of Living and Dying. This is an invitation to explore and honor the individual stories of our spiritual unfolding through life\, and to let go into the Great Mystery that holds us beyond birth and death. \nThough we will be camping out for the entire week\, activities undertaken will be non-strenuous and our emphasis will always be “safety first.” We will provide a list of personal equipment that each participant should bring\, and we will also provide some group equipment for our base-camp.

SUMMARY:Walk Through the Fire
DESCRIPTION:A Ceremonial Circle near the Start of Fire Season\nTHIS PROGRAM IS CURRENTLY FULL WITH A WAIT LIST \nPlease contact the enrolling guide by filling out the RSVP form below to be added to the wait list. \n\nSliding scale $100-$160\nNon-refundable deposit $50\nFee to be adjusted if program is shortened to daylong\nNo one turned away for lack of funds\nStarting 6 p.m. on Friday\, ending Saturday around 5 p.m.\n\nCheck out this song\, “Walk through the Fire”\, by Mary Gauthier: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52yPzBgnHRA&list=RD52yPzBgnHRA&start_radio=1 \nThis wonderful singer/songwriter uses fire as a metaphor for surviving a troubled relationship. We invite you to listen and turn this around: consider instead that the troubled relationship is a metaphor for walking through fire season. \nSonoma County has arrived at a “new normal”. Instead of the surprise of the occasional wildfire\, we now have a “fire season” every fall. Or even worse\, we had a fire season this past year that lasted from August to December. \nWith each fire season comes real fear. Fear of destruction. Fear of evacuation. Fear of loss of home. Fear of death. How to live with that much fear\, that much uncertainty? For some\, the answer is simple: move away. For those of us who choose to stay\, what kind of clarity of mind\, fortitude of spirit\, and practical preparation are needed as we prepare to enter yet another fire season? \nThis ceremonial circle will be held in Sugarloaf Ridge State Park\, where all of the park has been burned in recent years\, either by the Nuns fire in 2017 or the Glass Fire in 2020. Even worse\, half of it was burned by both fires. We’ll start the day in circle\, inviting people to hear each other’s personal “fire story” in prep for a day on the land. During the solo time\, we’ll invite everyone to go out alone in search of tree wisdom. We’ll encourage you to have two separate conversations: one with a living tree and one with a dead tree. What do trees have to teach us about living through fires? We’ll come back together in the afternoon to hear everyone’s story from this day of walking on a land that’s healing and growing. \nFor more information or questions\, please contact Scott Eberle at scott@earthwaysllc.com \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	To register for this program\, please print and fill out the registration form located here and pay the deposit amount listed above.\n \n	You may pay using the form below\, name and email required\, or you can mail a check to the address listed on the registration form. SUMMARY:Breaking and Mending
DESCRIPTION:Where Grief\, Gratitude and Beauty Coexist\nA Self-Generated Ceremony on the Land \n\nSliding scale available – please ask your guides!\nNon-refundable deposit $100\nBegins Thursday\, July 8 at 2pm\nEnds Sunday\, July 11 at 2pm\nLimited to 8\, due to Covid restrictions\nCost of $450 includes land use fees and all art supplies\n\nThere’s a crack in everything\, that’s how the light gets in.\n~ Leonard Cohen \nCome join us on the wild land for this unique retreat and ceremony where we will use and honor the art of Kintsugi and SoulCollage® as metaphors to explore the brokenness that lives in ourselves and our Mother Earth\, to acknowledge and honor our grief and find the beauty and gratitude that resides there. As we begin to emerge from the liminal space of The Great Pause\, we will say goodbye to what was and set our hopes and prayers on what will be. \nKintsugi (golden joinery) is an ancient Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. As a philosophy\, Kintsugi treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object\, rather than something to disguise. It encompasses a philosophy of living\, finding beauty within the imperfections of life and peacefully accepting the natural cycles of growth and decay. \nSoul Collage ® is a process of using visual imagery to consult our deepest knowing\, calling upon energies within and outside of ourselves for wisdom and strength. \nMany of us are living with broken hearts\, especially after the unprecedented tragedies that have occurred over the last year. We accumulate grief and carry it with us\, often unseen and unexpressed. But grief can be a storehouse of power\, a way to reconnect with how we love and honor what came before. Grief can help us find the beauty in our brokenness\, while opening us to loving more and being of service in the world \nFor more information contact deborah@earthwaysllc.com \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	To register for this program\, please print and fill out the registration form located here and pay the deposit amount listed above.\n \n	You may pay using the form below\, name and email required\, or you can mail a check to the address listed on the registration form. SUMMARY:Clear Desert Mirror
DESCRIPTION:A Contemplative Retreat in the Wild\n\nSliding scale available – please ask your guides!\nNon-refundable deposit $200\nGathering time of 10am on June 7th\, ends June 13th around noon\n\nI guess you could call it a pilgrimage. I feel lost anywhere I go\, though it’s true the way is always clearly marked: earth cairn\, sky cairn\, fire cairn\, water cairn.\n-David Hinton \nWe invite you to join us in June 2021 for a seven-day retreat in a remote high desert canyon—a uniquely beautiful jewel of the Mojave National Preserve. We will establish our camp amidst the family of Pinon\, Juniper\, Oak\, rabbit\, deer\, hummingbird and snake. Seekers across time and tradition have sought refuge in wild places\, where great joy and suffering can bring us to our deepest truths. \nDuring this program you will be guided and supported to quiet the mind and cultivate a sense of stillness and spaciousness. Together\, we will drop into deep relationship to our most authentic selves\, one another\, and the wild landscape around us and within us. Unplugged from the demands of routine and familiar surroundings\, Clear Desert Mirror will support restorative contemplation and inspire transformation\, for the benefit of all beings. \nEach day will include several periods of silent meditation\, teachings to help us open to our innate wisdom and compassion\, time on the land\, and time to share in council. There will be a 24 hour solo with optional fasting. Camping experience is useful\, but not a prerequisite. This program is open to all people of all spiritual and religious traditions. \nFor more information or to register contact\nroy@earthwaysllc.com or cynthia@earthwaysllc.com \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	To register for this program\, please print and fill out the registration form located here and pay the deposit amount listed above.\n \n	You may pay using the form below\, name and email required\, or you can mail a check to the address listed on the registration form. SUMMARY:What Matters Most
DESCRIPTION:A Day Walk With Inquiry of Forgiveness\, Apology\, Love and Goodbye\n\nSliding scale available – please ask your guides!\nNon-refundable deposit $50\nGathering time\, Saturday 8am – 5pm\nLimit 8 due to covid restrictions\n\nThe weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.\n~ Mahatma Gandhi \nThis is the last day walk in a series of 4 seasonal day walks we began last year. It is open to anyone who is interested in joining us\, whether or not you participated last year. \nWhat Matters Most emphasized four inquiries that matter. Please join us for time on the land\, deep listening and storytelling. \nYou will have a full day to be out on the land to use as you feel called. You may need to rest. Or hike. Maybe called to journal or do art. At the end of the day walk\, we will hold story council and offer you a deep listening and reflection for your life. \nFor more information or to register contact:\ndeborah@earthwaysllc.com \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	To register for this program\, please print and fill out the registration form located here and pay the deposit amount listed above.\n \n	You may pay using the form below\, name and email required\, or you can mail a check to the address listed on the registration form. SUMMARY:Sheltering in Nature
DESCRIPTION:A Day Walk with Inquiry\nStart: Friday\, April 23\, 2021 @ 6pm\nEnd: Saturday\, April 24\, 2021 @ 5pm \nThis will include overnight camping\, with an evening Intention Council on Friday night. (Rangers tell us the campsite will open in time for this overnight\, but if it hasn’t\, we will revise the program to be a day walk only for Saturday\, April 24\, 9am-5pm.) \nAfter a long winter lockdown\, we finally have emerged from sheltering in place to the great possibility of sheltering in nature.  Please join us as we dedicate this Friday night and Saturday to reflecting on this last year and all the ways we have learned to be alone. This experience of isolation is especially strong for those who truly do live alone\, and yet most all of us have felt some kind of separation from others\, some kind of aloneness. \nWe will sit and walk with these questions: \n\nWhat does it mean to be alone and live fully with our aloneness?\nHow will we allow the uncomfortable lessons of sheltering in place\, inform our lives going forward into 2021?\n\nAt the end of the day\, we will come together in council to share our stories and offer each other some precious mirroring. \n\nLimit 8 (due to current physical distancing requirements)\nCost: Sliding scale $100 – $160\nNo one turned away for lack of funds\nFee to be adjusted if program is shortened to daylong\n\nFor more information or questions\, please contact Sahara Chaldean at Sahara@earthwaysllc.com \n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	This program is full with a wait list.\n \n	Please RSVP using the form below if you want to be put on the wait list or for more information about this program.\n \n\n\n Your name *\n \n \n Your email *\n \n \n Phone Number\n \n \n Comment\n \n \n	Full with wait list.
