Lyme Disease Information and Resources
Lyme disease and co-infections are serious and life threatening. Due to the ever-changing climate and temperatures, ticks (the primary carriers of Lyme) can be found almost all year round. If you are bitten by a tick, it is recommended that you send it in to get it tested. This applies to any tick who has bitten or is embedded for any length of time. Please note that only a little over 27% (Lymedisease.org) of people who are bit by a tick get a bull’s-eye when they in fact have contracted the disease. If you were bitten by a tick, it is important that you call your doctor and seek treatment as soon as possible.
Testing in the Local Bay Area
You can send your tick in for testing at the California Department of Public Health
